Cedar was born on April 22, 2025. He and his littermate Rowan came to the International Wolf Center on May 3, 2025, at 11 days old, weighing only about 2 lbs. Because they were born on Earth Day, we chose tree-themed names. Cedar is a coniferous tree found here in the Northwoods and it symbolizes strength and resilience. While both pups have a black coloration, Cedar has a deeper black coat color with a more visible white spot on his precaudal tail gland. His muzzle appears narrower and shorter in comparison to his brother’s. Cedar is a confident explorer and excited to join in pack activity and chases.

The International Wolf Center uses science-based education to teach and inspire the world about wolves, their ecology, and the wolf-human relationship.
