Wildfire burns hundreds of acres on Michigan’s remote Isle Royale

From MLive:

ISLE ROYALE, MI – Certain trails and campground areas on Michigan’s remote Isle Royale have been closed after a wildfire on the east end expanded over the weekend. The Horne Fire had burned approximately 200 acres as of Sunday, according to the National Park Service.

“Due to the progress of the Horne Fire, ongoing drought conditions, and elevated levels of fire danger, area closures are necessary to maintain public health and safety. Closed areas will be signed where possible and monitored to ensure compliance,” park staff said.
