Ontario: Wolf, coyote numbers in Parry Sound, Almaguin near historic highs

Eastern coyotes are the most common wild canine across most of the Parry Sound and Almaguin region; however, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) says there are some resident wolves and associated hybrids in the area.

Following a post made a by a Sundridge resident on the “What’s Up Sundridge!” Facebook page about spotting two wolves on Murray Street on Nov. 28, our reporter reached out to the ministry to find out what local numbers were like.
