New wolf activity reported in eastern Oregon


SALEM, Oregon – The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has made changes in the areas of known wolf activity in Eastern Oregon. That includes a pair of wolves roaming in Umatilla and Morrow counties.

ODFW instituted a new AKWA when two separate groups of two wolves were confirmed to be on the eastern portion of the Heppner Unit in those two counties. Referred to as the Heppner wolves, they will be monitored. It’s not known if the wolves have bred.
