Italy: Val d’Ossola farmers protest over wolf character in children’s book

The author of a children’s book says he was threatened by farmers when he presented Osso the She-Wolf to an audience of families in the mountain village of Alpe Devero in northern Italy.

The protest was staged by members of a “committee to save Ossola’s farmers”, who described the book as a “wolfist provocation”. “They told me that they know who I am, where I live and what car I have,” Matteo Antonio Rubino said. “One approached me with a knife in his hand.”
