Bid to bring wild wolves back to Scotland as wildlife presenter Steve Backshall explores Alaska in live show
From the UK’s Daily Record:
Officially, the last wolf to be killed in Scotland was in 1680 by Sir Ewen Cameron in Killiecrankie – although there were tales of them being seen up until 1888.
In England, they were hunted to extinction even earlier – during the 14th century.
But if wildlife presenter Steve Backshall, 44, had his way, the howls of wolves would return to the Highlands to once again give our hills and glens a haunting choir.
